In the fall of 2019, Bishop Malesic tasked all of the parishes of the diocese to form a Vocation Ministry to encourage and support parishioners in their vocations, whether it is the priesthood, religious and consecrated life, sacramental marriage or the single life. Several parishioners attended the Hundredfold Workshop, which got its name from the Gospel of Mark 4:8, “Some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit yielding thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”The goal is for all of the parishes to cultivate an environment that encourages everyone to answer God’s call, regardless of what that call may be.
The work of the Vocation Ministry is to pray and to develop uplifting, encouraging, educational activities that create a fertile environment so that God can plant the seed and the Holy Spirit can water that seed in the hearts of individuals.
Our mission:
“The goal of the Vocation Ministry is to create a vocation-friendly environment where the Holy Spirit can easily plant seeds of holiness that are watered by the prayers of faithful parishioners.”
Our Patron Saints are Saints Louis andZelie Martin, the first married couple to ever be canonized together. Their five daughters entered religious life, too, including Saint Therese of Lisieux.
